About me

Chris Brock

Photographer

My images have marked milestones in my life. I shot the image of my Grandfather, a cotton farmer in west Texas,  with one of his prized fighting cocks 30 years ago.  It came alive for me late one night while I was experimenting with photoshop. My orginal intent was to scan and restore an old kodachome slide. Not ever being one to color in the lines I started manipulating the many tools of the program. This image just appeared and I realized that it was an image I had tried and failed to produce in the darkroom many times. It became my frame of reference, where I came from and what I wanted to do with my work. This photo of him captures a lifetime of hard work and pride.
